The Learning Source Celebrates
Adult Education & Family Literacy Week By Spotlighting Adult Education
Resources Available In The Thornton Community
Denver

National
Adult Education and Family Literacy Week is September 22 through 28, 2019.
The goal is to raise awareness about the need for and value of adult education
and family literacy in the U.S. and in our local communities. As a proud
supporter of Adult Education and Family Literacy Week, The Learning Source is a
nonprofit organization that connects adult students with the resources they
need to better their lives and take charge of their futures.
The
Learning Source has expanded its reach and is now offering adult education
resources to the Thornton community. The Thornton location is currently
enrolling adult students now for high school equivalency (GED) preparation and
English as a second language (ESL) classes.
“The
Learning Source has been teaching classes and helping communities for more than
50 years. By extending our services to the Thornton area, we are able to serve
even more students,” says Josh Evans, Chief Executive Officer with The Learning
Source. “In Colorado 321,000 adults in do not have a high school diploma and
126,439 adults don’t speak English well or at all. Our goal is to change these
statistics.”
