"Poetry to the People" Tour
This
June, House of SpeakEasy and Narrative 4 will embark on an 1,800-mile
road trip from New York City to New Orleans, delivering books to underserved
communities and partnering along the way on workshops, story exchanges, readings,
and more. The "Poetry to the
People" Tour will depart from Pioneer Works in Red Hook, Brooklyn, on
Thursday, June 13.
The
book truck will be making stops in Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, Columbus, Floyd
County, Nashville, Jackson, Arnaudville, and Lafayette. The trip will conclude
in New Orleans to coincide with the start of Narrative 4’s annual Global Summit
and will feature a special book giveaway and program at the New Orleans Museum
of Art on Sunday, June 23.
N4’s
eighth annual global summit which is scheduled to take place in New Orleans
from June 21-26.
