UP Skills for Work helps learners develop key
employability skills through free workshops and downloadable workbooks. Three
workbooks will be introduced each year on the topics of:

Why
are Soft Skills important?
Soft
skills help workers to be adaptable and motivated throughout their whole
employment and as they move into new roles or careers. In other words, they lay
the foundation for a strong and flexible workforce and for happy, fulfilled
workers.
UP
Skills for Work focuses on 9 key employability skills that hiring managers look
for. These skills were identified by Futureworx, a Canadian non-profit at the
forefront in developing soft skills programming.

Attitude
How
you show your thoughts or feelings through your words and actions.
Accountability
Owning
your actions, both the good and the bad.

you look and sound to other people.

decisions about how you spend your time.
