AWE, Inc. has announced the
2014 Video Contest for Public Libraries.
PRWeb: 3.27.2014
For this contest, public
libraries are invited to create a video for the chance to win an Early Literacy
Station™ or AfterSchool Edge™ digital learning solution from AWE.
The submission period is
effective now through June 1, 2014.
In the videos, public
libraries are invited to talk about their library and how AWE’s Early Literacy
Station computers benefit the library and the children in their community.
Libraries that don’t yet have an Early Literacy Station can also submit a video
for the chance to win one.
“We are excited to announce
that there will be three winners for this year’s contest,” said Michael Mok, VP
of US Sales. "It’s very exciting to see the passion and creativity
displayed by public libraries in the videos.”
The videos should be no
longer than 90 seconds and submissions are due by June 1, 2014. To submit a
video, libraries should simply upload the video to YouTube and complete the
submission form on AWE’s website.
The annual video contest is
open to customers and non-customers alike. All of the submissions from past years
are available for viewing here: 2012 and 2013.
The three winners will be
announced at ALA Annual in Las Vegas, Nev., at the end of June.
The Early Literacy Station is
found in 40% of public library systems. It offers young learners a safe,
all-in-one computer resource that does not require an Internet connection to
operate. The software content spans all curriculum areas (reading, language
arts, math, science, STEM, social studies, writing, graphic arts, typing,
music, and more) and is correlated to Common Core standards. It also features a
host of administrative features including timed sessions and usage tracking.
