National Family Literacy Day: Nov 1

National Family Literacy Day
November 1

 National Center for Family Literacy
National Family Literacy Day celebrates families learning together and raises awareness for the importance of family literacy programs. The funds we raise during the #NCFLBigGive go towards developing and sharing resources that help families across the nation make academic and economic gains. If you believe in the power families harness when learning together, join us in the #NCFLBigGive and spread the word to your family and friends!

The National Center for Families Learning (NCFL) believes that all parents—regardless of socioeconomic or education level—can help their children succeed in school and in life. As a nation, we need to make the most of the time parents have with our children, with the 7,800 hours children spend out of school each year (compared to 900 hours in school). The family unit—no matter the composition—is the one constant across the educational spectrum.

NCFL provides support and strategies to a network of entities involved in families learning together, including educators, schools, community-based organizations, and libraries. Our efforts support learners of all ages in these environments in concert with our advocates and partners.
